Kenda Retreats

For those who have not met me, I am jacqui and this will be the third event that KendaReiki has hosted and has been  life changing. I cannot wait to share with you all the amazing activities we will be doing during our stay in the historical village of Xaghra, Gozo

Eliminate Stress - Discover simple methods to enrich your soul.

A summer invitation

Date: 8th October 2024

7 nights/8 days

on B&B basis

Last 2 single beds remaining - sharing room with en-suite

It's time to REimagine your work and life

  • REflect once a day
  • REelect your sounding board
  • REsharpen your curiosity
  • REdiscover your hidden gifts
  • REvision of the good life
  • REframe your time boundaries
  • REclaim your purpose
  • REmember that You Are Enough

KendaRetreats will help you do all this as you begin to eliminate the stress and slow things down. Discover simple methods to enrich your soul during a time of reflection and uncover your true authentic self that’s been hiding away.

This is a retreat for women ONLY

Our third retreat will take place in the beautiful and historical village of Xaghra, Gozo.

Retreats are not about escaping life, but they are all about fully embracing it!
Get ready to switch off your phones and enjoy the here and now as you reconnect with your inner self and remind yourself that 'I Am Enough'.

I am extremely intentional about curating the perfect group of up to 8 guests for each retreat, to ensure privacy and personal support, providing a safe and non-judgemental experience to reignite your passions into intentions and to help you discover your authentic self.  Our time is spent according to how we feel in the present moment, whether that is getting active with a swim in the warm mediterranean sea or the farmhouse pool, a hike in the local fields, taking an afternoon nap, listening to soft gentle sounds, curling up with a book, or unleashing your creativity in art and craft workshops.

My invitation is for you to fully accept, embrace and celebrate life in this now moment.

First of all by falling in love with exactly who you are - physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Removing any and all limiting beliefs of who we can and cannot be. Rewriting stories told to us by others.

Kenda Retreats
- has become one of my favourite ways to share my passion to helping others rediscover who they truly are. You are not obligated to partake in all the activities or any activities at all, and it's highly recommended that you rest as much as you require!

At Kenda Retreats, there's no prescribed way to exist; being authentically yourself is what matters most.

The retreat schedule includes both group and private sessions, and you have the flexibility to participate in whichever ones suit your mood and preferences.

You are invited to join me and other kindred souls on this exclusive and inspiring retreat.

Accommodation in this stunning Gozitan house -
This property is fully furnished and equipped with all the modern gadgets to make your stay as comfortable as possible. WIFI, Fresh bed linen, air conditioner in all bedrooms, bath towels, toiletries such as toilet paper are provided and are included in the price of the retreat. The entire property is secure and protected.

The Gozo House

Quirky, Majestic, Imposing, Charming, Unique. All of these adjectives aptly describe the composition of traditional Maltese/Gozitan homes. Elements such as stone floors and arched or vaulted ceilings are typical and the use of Limestone can be seen in every home you pass. Not only are these aspects pleasant and cool, but they are part of the story that these homes have to tell. A chapter in history that is worth rediscovering with new eyes - just like yourself during this retreat.

This stunning typical gozitan house has a private entrance and offers four bedrooms (three of which are ensuite).  There are three rooms that hold one double bed and a single bed in each. The forth comprises of two single beds.  It boasts an open plan lounge/diner/kitchen with direct access to the pool area. The turquoise pool with a view of neighbouring fields, invites you for that morning swim or an afternoon float. You are surrounded by nature and fields of cactus. Some of the rooms will have a balcony or terrace offering garden/field or internal courtyard views.

For added comfort you will find a well-equipped kitchen as well as a barbecue area by the pool. The best part is the washing machine which means no taking home dirty clothes! There are hair dryers as well as an iron saving you valuable space in your luggage.

 Bed & Breakfast

In order to create something special, and to keep within a budget appealing to many, I decided to try something different and offer this retreat on a Bed & Breakfast basis.
This allows everybody to work within their own dietary requirements whether that includes fish/dairy/meat products or whether you prefer vegetarian or vegan options. Gluten free options will be available in the restaurants too. It will allow for wide range of variety as we explore the delicious local cuisine together - a feast for both our eyes and tummies.

The kitchen is always open and you can access as you please, finding a wide selection of herbal teas, juice and fresh coffee along with some healthy snacks.

The lunch and evening meal lists are typical local food suggestions that you can expect to indulge in during your stay when dining out.

About the food - Breakfast

Should you have any dietary requirements, please advise at time of booking. This meal is included within the price of the retreat.

Breakfast menu
  • Homegrown fruit
  • Local breads
  • Local jams
  • Pancakes
  • Juices
  • Cereal
  • yogurt
  • Selection of local cheese
  • Selection of cold meats
  • Tea/Coffee

Lunch ideas -

Some of the traditional food you will find on the Island of Gozo are as follows:
  • Pastiizzi  - A traditional savoury pastry which is usually filled with ricotta or curried peas. They are very popular and a well-known traditional Maltese Food.
  • Hobz biz zejt  - Pronounced as 'Hobs - bis - zeyt' translated to meaning bread with oil, is a simple yet delicious tradition that the Maltese and Gozitans love. Thick slices of local bread are spread with a sweetish tomato paste and topped with capers, olives, garlic and black pepper with a drizzle of olive oil. Sometimes Tuna will be added for added flavour.
  • Tuna and spinach pie  - Jam packed with lots of exquisite mediterranean ingredients.
  • Ftira Pizza  - Gozo is very proud of their food and this is a typical Gozitan dish, similar to the pizza that we know and love but the Gozitan way.
For as little as €4.00 you can fill your tummy (and take some back to snack on).

Evening main course ideas

Main course options
  • Bragioli A flattened piece of steak wrapped around a filling made from bacon, ground beef, hard boiled egg, breadcrumbs, herbs and seasonings
  • Maltese Sausage Everybody loves a good tasty sausage. It's a type of Maltese sausage made with fatty minced pork, garlic, herbs, pepper, and sea salt. It’s known to be garlicky and quite salty so they’re often boiled first before being fried, but boy are they tasty.  Added to pasta dishes, served on their own or in a sauce.
  • Steak Who doesn't love a big juicy steak (with or without added sauces)
  • Fresh Fish Surrounded by the mediterranean Sea, you are quite frankly spoiled for choice when it comes to fresh fish.  Lampuki is my favourite and is a white, meaty fish with a delicate flavour. Best time of year for this fish is September and October so perfect timing for our retreat.
  • Pasta A hearty meal for any occasion. There is so much choice from spaghetti to ravioli.
  • Pizza Not just a suitable lunch choice but an evening meal choice too.   Trust me there is so much to choose from you will be spoilt for choice.

And finally the Desserts!!

A delicious and very difficult choice to be made. Here are a few suggestions of what you might be tempted by:
  • Cannelloni
  • Imqaret (date cakes)

  • Local village biscuits

  • Homemade Ice-cream and Sorbets

Are you ready to join us?

£250 deposit will secure your space and the price (early bird discounts - if within time frame)

Below are the suggested flight details from Birmingham Airport to Malta International Airport (just to make life simple).
Flight time is approx 3hr 15 mins.

Note: Luqa Airport is a very modern airport and there is duty free shopping available.
Airport transfers are not included in the price of the retreat.

If you would like to book a transfer through Kenda Retreats, I can either book you a taxi collecting you from the Airport to the Ferry point and you make your own way to the farmhouse or provide a private chauffeur service from Luqa Airport direct to the venue (this can be private or shared with other group members).

  • Taxi: €30 Airport pick-up to Cirkewwa - Malta harbour to take the Gozo Channel ferry (this will be the same for the return journey) you will however, be responsible to get yourself to the farmhouse from Mgarr Harbour and from the farmhouse to the Ferry point for the return.
  • Private Chauffeur Service: €90 Airport pick-up to take you all the way to the farmhouse (one way). The return will NOT include the ferry ticket which you pay as you leave Gozo.
  • Shared Chauffeur Service: €60 Airport pick-up to take you all the way to the farmhouse (one way). This will include the ferry ticket price as you leave Gozo.
GOZO FERRY

There are two ferries that run consistently from the main island of Malta to her sister island, Gozo where we will be staying and these can be reached directly from the airport using private car hire, taxi, local bus, Uber or Bolt services. The ferry crossing only takes approx 25 minutes from Malta to Gozo (same for the return) and leaves from the northern point of Malta called Cirkewwa.

Note: You only pay for the ferry when you leave the island of Gozo from Mgarr Harbour.

Unless you are using the suggested private transfer option, there is another way to get to the farmhouse if you are feeling a bit more adventurous.

LOCAL BUS SERVICE

There is a direct bus - X1 (which costs approx €2) that will take you from the airport and drives directly to Cirkewwa (just ask for the 'Gozo Channel Ferry Terminal'). This journey can take over an hour (a bit longer in high traffic) but it is beautiful as it drives along the coastline, so you will enjoy some stunning views of Malta along your journey.
