Where do we start?

Acknowledgements

There are so many people we wanted to thank and have done so in the back of the book but felt it also need to be here in the website too.

Tools just for you!

Have a look at the list opposite and locate where you fit in. Are you the person in addiction recovery?, are you looking for tools to get to that point? or maybe you are a friend/family member that wants a deeper understanding of what they are going through. These Essential Oils can be a tool that everybody can work with and they will fit into any space at home or in the workplace. If you are somebody who works or volunteers in the recovery sector then you will want to have a wholesale account for yourself as well as one for your organisation.

Can you identify with any of the listed...
  • I am in recovery
  • I know a friend in recovery
  • I know a family member in recovery
  • I work in the addiction recovery sector
  • I would like help to stay sober
  • I am struggling on my own

A huge thank you to the following stars ...

To our parents - Lilian & Tom, Maurie & Malcolm, our brothers Malcolm & John & my sister Stephanie. To our nephews, cousins, aunts & uncles - we thank you for the love, patience & understanding given to us both throughout the years (especially when I am flying away with the fairies)

To our son, Brandon, who drives us crazy but makes us laugh. Watching you grow up into the young man you are today is the biggest and proudest achievement and we wouldn’t want you any other way.

To our dear friend Darren who has always supported us and who gave Daniel a place to sleep with a roof over his head when he was homeless. We both thank you from the bottoms of our hearts.

Daniel:
To all the staff & volunteers at Changes UK (you know who you are). Thank you for the guidance, love, support & friendship you gave freely to me during my treatment for alcohol and drug dependency. For reminding me who I am & for offering me a bridge to normal living.

To all the members (past & present) of the various fellowship groups who continue to provide essential support through my journey of recovery.

Special thanks to Seamus. You are truly an inspiration and your wisdom has allowed me to view everything with so much clarity.

A very special posthumous thank you to Andy for all your help during my first 3 yrs of sobriety.

A heartfelt thank you to Richard for composing the 2 wonderful and insightful poems, which are included at the start of the book. For sharing some of the affirmations you use daily - one of which was used in this deck (card 16) and for being a true friend to us both.

Jacqui:
A huge thank you to my friend and Reiki mentor, Lynda. You have taught me to trust and believe in myself, teaching me and providing me with tools such as meditation, crystals and reiki that I use daily both personally and professionally.

To all my Reiki, Meditation and Essential oil students (past & present) I thank you all for keeping me energetically charged and accountable. I’m extremely honoured you chose me as your mentor & proud of being part of your ongoing journey and as a result I can call so many of you dear friends.

Thank you to Coralie & Sean for always being there to catch me when I stumble. You’re more than just Ōily mentors & your friendship is vital as I bloom into the confident person I’m meant to be.

To all my ‘Your Ōil Fairy’ team - Thank you for putting your trust in me & sharing the love and passion of essential oils. Knowing you now have additional tools to help support you with any of life’s ‘surprises’ warms my heart.  A special thank you to my team leaders Sandy, Donna, Karen & Lynn for just being you and keeping me grounded.

Kate, thank you for everything. We don’t believe in chance meetings and your guidance has been invaluable on this exciting venture.

A huge thank you goes out to the many talented graffiti artists that helped illustrate our project. Your artwork has brought life, colour, emotion, truth & humour to the deck.

To our fur babies - Shimmie, Micah & RavenSara. Thank you for all the cuddles you shared and for pretending to listen throughout the time we’ve spent on our labour of love.

Finally, we’d like to thank each other. We’ve been through tough times where giving up would have been the easy option, but we didn’t. Instead, it’s brought us closer together. Life is interesting to say the least, making each other smile, giggle, frown and roll our eyes - all in one day. But we both know that we wouldn’t have it any differently.

We hope you will feel empowered...

Well there you have it folks!  Our baby has been born and we hope it will reach those who need, love and use it to help them on the road to recovery.
